It helps the TEA Taste Better!!!
Back in Kingston after a lovely three day Canadian roadtrip! Met a beautiful family, saw a few cities, made a few new friends! and thanked God for the lovely time he lets me have EVERY time!
and this happens to be the 1001st post on Chai ki Dukaan! what a trip so far!!! and I am all exited for the journey ahead! God bless!
Prashant : Good! Bring it on… I have always dreamt of driving one! I am excited!!!
Deepak : Saala, itni choti gaadi hai!!! 3 suitcase mein hi jagah khatam!
Prashant: Sach bol! Bilkil bhi space nahin hai?
Prakati : nahin! Baithoge to pata chalega!
Prashant : Achcha :/
Pritam : Bhai mereko kisi ne bola hi nahin… mereko ye achchi lagi mein le aaya!
Prashant : Laal rang ki hai na? mast hai!!!
Pritam : Haan!
Prashant : Aur Jeep hai aur Wrangler hai!!! Mast hai bhai, ekdum mast hai!!!
5 hours later
Prashant : Abe ye to sach mein bahut choti hai be!!! Itni choti jeep to kabhi nahin dekhi maine!
Deepak : Samaan to rakho phir dekho!
Prashant (in his mind) : Two door Soft Top Red Jeep Wrangler, 4 people, close to about 2000 miles to drive, short on space, big on feeling, well! We get some we lose some!!!
Prashant : Itni buri bhi nahin hai bhai! Chalo baitho!!! Thoda bags idhar udhar karo, space banao, gaane lagao, shor machao…
Sometime later
Prashant : Hai to choti, par thoda sa seats adjust karke shayad back seat aur comfortable ho jaye!!!
Some more time later
Prakati : It’s not for a long drive.. it’s good for a day long picnic or something
Prashant : I agree… even the car has not been designed for long drives… the steering is designed to have an excellent grip while turning, and not for holding on to for long hours, there is no foot rest for the left foot, there is no cruise control and so on and so forth! But you see, it’s a dream being fulfilled for Pritam and me!
3 days 20 hours and about 1600 miles later!
I had driven this two door rockstar for about 1300 miles including a 12 hour drive on Sunday, driven in rain, driven in sun, driven in snow, on the plains, and on the hills, driven in the morning, afternoon, evening, night, and midnight, driven in 7 states, and in two time zones…
And like I read on another jeep…
“You wouldn’t understand, It’s a Jeep thing!”
Kingston is a name that I have heard only in reference to memory sticks or thumb drives, or USB drives or Pen drives as the janta calls them… an opportunity to visit the place with that name had a different sort of excitement for me… I was feeling very similar when I went to Cherokee too!!!
Kingston has nothing to do with the brand, I guess, and there is not much you can do in the town… You can be in Jail, it has a biiiig correction centre, or you could be in the Queens University, or you could be working in one of the local market places in the city! Pretty laid back, and a relaxed place to be in, with its own set of excitements too I am sure!
The rest below, along with the pictures…
The change of driver pit-stop some 20 miles before the US-Canadian Border. I was driving Jas’s Shwanda so far!!! I love that white car… it is so similar to my palio!
And then we walked towards the downtown…
I also saw one of the best beautiful sunsets in a very long time at the Lake Ontario that evening!!!
The next day we had to leave Kingston by 1 to catch my flight back… and because I woke up pretty late, there was not much we could do… So we hung around the apartment, while I took a few photographs…
My flight from Syracuse was delayed by an hour, and that made me miss my connection to Milwaukee. I enjoyed my complimentary stay in Holiday Inn, Newark that night, and took the first flight out on Monday. Though I had to wake up at 4:30 in the morning, I was still ok.
In short, this weekend turned out to be very relaxed, de-stressing and refreshing.
One more to the list of memorable trips I have made! Thank you Jas! thank you Uncle!
And I almost forgot… last weekend was the first time, I signed some of my work! A huge moment of satisfaction for me as a photographer!!!!
and today, Jas gave Diane two prints as well!!! 🙂 I am glad!
