Positive India Post # 1 – Aha moment of the day!

I met someone yesterday for an End of Lease Cleaning job for my current unit! He has been in Australia for over 45 years, however has his roots in India. We got talking, and he told me about his tenure in Australian Navy (he served in Australian Navy for over 20 years), the war games Navy used to play, and that Indian Navy is a force that you do not want to go against!

Loved that bit 🙂

Change!

Had a very nice conversation with a friend about Change today! and now that I think about it, I am not able to pen it down the way it happened!

Change is something that would happen with everything which is living! Trees change when they are small saplings and when they are plants and when they are trees! They give and take differently with each year! Could label it as their properties, but we humans are not too different either! We change! We have to!

As long as we are in an atmosphere with external elements, we are bound to change! We are like those elements on the periodic table, who would react differently to different elements in a chemical reaction! Our properties change, and some of these reactions are reversible and some are not… Its ok I think! or maybe not! but there is little that one can do to stop it, except living in a vacuum!

Hmm! And your reason is?
If I have a kid, I will probably spend everything that I earn on him/her… not that I earn too much but whatever it is it would be spent on that one child. Now if I do not have a kid of my own, I can probably use that li’il money to raise more kids outside my own family. The mouths are already here, the kids are already here… I did not bring them to this world! but they are here. I rather use my money to raise them!

Continuing with my mathematics (which ended up in my leg being pulled all the way from Dhaka, which I loved by the way!), let’s do some additions… tell me

Essentially I am asking; what if a man is getting one or two or all three of these, what does it make him?

I have been thinking for a while about this and I finally talked to Uncle God to see what does he have to say about it… here is how our conversation went…

Me: Uncle, I need another day …

Uncle: For?

Me : To have fun… Weekdays seem to be too busy at work, and weekends as well fly away… when do I have fun…

Uncle: And?

Me: So you add another day in the week… make it an 8 day week… and the 8th day would be the “Funday“… I will only enjoy on that day… no sad feelings, no dull faces… only fun !

Uncle: You are crazy fella ! And me too, for keeping up with you… but I am sorry, I cannot just add another day to the week… Even I am hit by recession… even I am short of days these days ! I rather give another day for people to eat, and another day for people to live.. don’t even get me started on that note.. but here is what you can do…

  • When you wake up in the morning, thank someone that you have another day to enjoy !
  • When you brush your teeth, dance
  • When you are cooking in the kitchen, dance
  • When are walking to the office, or driving or cycling to the office, listen to your favorite music… and do that when you are coming back from work too
  • When you meet people in the elevator, always say a hello
  • When you are taking food in the cafe, greet the person on the other side of the counter
  • Before you go off to sleep, call someone you’ve not called in a while and talk for 5 minutes
  • Don’t ever sleep with a unresolved argument
  • Sing when you take a bath
  • Go out for a walk after you have your dinner… spend this time with yourself.. leave your phone home, leave your iPod home as well
  • Cook for someone you like
  • Write a letter to your parents
  • Play, run, jump, hop whenever you get an opportunity
  • Once a day smell something nice
  • Compliment when you like something
  • Ask for opinions from the sales people when you shop
  • Find a complete misfit cloth, wear it and show it your friends
  • Make faces in the mirror


Do these and come back to me… I will tell you a few more things to do… If you still feel you need another day called a “funday” we will think about it !

Achcha hai saale tere liye… tere dil ki MCBC honi hi chahiye…

tu dost hai ke dushman… kutta kahin ka… main kuch aur dhoondta hoon…

What’s the Point?

This question at times stares me in the face…

Whats the point?

~ In thinking of a day after tomorrow when you are not even sure what happens tomorrow?

~ In thinking of a dream you have, when you know the reality today is a different world from you dream?

~ In giving yourself a hope, a reason to live through today and tomorrow and day after with all that you have?

Right, whats the point? in trying, if you know nothing is going to happen right away?

I don’t know whats the point!!!

and I don’t know what to say, when someone asks me this question, Whats the point Prashant?

Thankfully I don’t ask this question a lot… I think there is a point… if I believe in something, I don’t care if it happens today or tomorrow… I will still give it what I can… I will live with some faith, some hope.. and I would make an effort… and not back off by asking myself whats the point !!!

Today I am closer to a few dreams that have been a part of my days, thanks to not letting this question contol my actions !!!


Thank you Uncle God for making me feel that There IS a Point !!! Just keep letting me hold on to that small thing called FAITH, even if I have darkness right in front !!!

Aro continues : Not your car idiot…(No points for guessing that the first thing I think about when I hear the word Radha is my car) the Radha Radha… the Krishna Radha, Radha…

Me : What about her?

Aro : What happened to her?

Me : What do you mean what happened to her?

Aro : Where did she go after Gokul? Do you know?

Me : She never told me where she was going ! How the hell am I supposed to know?

Aro : But there has to be a mention somewhere? She was with Krishna, and we all know what he was upto throughout his life… what happened to her?

Me : Oh I remember, she got married to someone else.. and used to stay away from her husband and all…

Aro : Really?

Me : Nope.. I think that was Meera.. I don’t know.. maybe she transmorgified or something herself into my car and is with me now….

Aro : Right, but what happened she broke up or whatever with Krishna…

Me : I don’t know.. maybe she left or something… maybe she was a potential threat to Krishna and he hid her somewhere to save the world… but this needs an investigation… call Papa, he would know for sure…

Aro : Krishna would not do anything for the world and not speak about it… everything that he has done was properly broadcasted… any act done to do good to the world cannot be hidden.. there has to be something else..

Me : I guess so.. find out… call home.. and its their marriage anniversary today..

(Laughter from the other side)

Me : Not Radha Krishna’s idiot, mom dad’s… make sure you call them and wish them too…

Aro : Ya i know 😀 hehehe… i will call.. send me the numbers again will you?

Me : Roger that…

Aro: Chal tata..

Me : Ok Bye…

This is exactly how the conversation would have went if I was in India or on Mars for that matter… its amazing how a few things don’t change… I am blessed !!!

and this is how a lot of our conversations end… But what we fail to realise that its time like these when our friends probably don’t need a “ok whatever” but an assurance that you are around in case needed…

so next time you get into a situation like this.. all you need to do is tell your friend that you are around…
