I had a small accessory like a scarf that I wear around the neck… Manmeet gave it to me, and it has the Indian tricolour on it, minus Ashoka Chakra. While walking around in a mall last month, someone stopped me and asked why I was wearing the Irish flag around my neck.. It was a friendly chat, and we discussed how similar both flags were

I didn’t know much of Irish Freedom struggle either, however after I saw Michael Collins, I read more… and found it intriguing that there are so many similarities around independence!

India and Ireland –

• Both British colonies
• Both given “freedom” with “terms and conditions apply” which also essential meant that the British split both these countries before they left (India and Pakistan; Ireland and North Ireland)
• It was mayhem after British left, and I know that India is still struggling with that division after the British left.. I am not that sure about Ireland though! I need to read more

I feel saddened by what the British did! :/ There could be more, but I am not really keen on exploring further!
